A more nuanced approach to the book treats the theology of the book within its own horizons and then observes how it is received in the New Testament, which is the approach favored here. Then, the two parts of the canon are related in a robust canonical biblical theology in the light of the full revelation of Scripture: reading from Habakkuk through to the New Testament books, and then from the New Testament books back to Habakkuk.
